The chemical components of Medical Marijuana, referred to as cannabinoids, play a major role in the realm of medicine known as CAM (Complementary and Alternative Medicine). Medical Marijuana, also know as Medical Cannabis, has been employed for a wide array of medicinal uses for many centuries for its pharmacological effects on the CNS (Central Nervous System) and the immune system. Its anticancer properties and its ability to help the body cope with the side-effects of cancer as well as the treatment process through the activation of specific receptors throughout the body were discovered quite recently.

The non-psychtropic and modifying cannabinoid that has a number of different medical properties called Cannabidiol comprises 75{db5241a9c62965a92042d70df68e9c05bff96d49c0f8a94bc6ca20474c918850} of the total cannabinoids content in a few rare strains of cannabis. This modifying cannabinoid called Cannabinol has low psychoactive properties. It is known to reduce the psychoactive effects of THC by degenerating it. Its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antispasmodic, and antioxidant properties are well-known.

The cannabinoid, Cannabigerol that is found in Cannabis, particularly its medical marijuana and hemp varieties is the precursor form of other cannabinoids like THC and CBD. It is a bone stimulant with antibacterial and anti-proliferative properties.

Tetrahydrocannabivarin is found in cannabis along with THC. This psychoactive cannabinoid has numerous medical benefits in THC, which include decreased appetite and as the dosage gets larger, it is known to oppose the medicinal properties of THC. There are a number of THCV-based pharmaceuticals that are currently undergoing human trials to address the problems of obesity and Type II diabetes.

Akin to Tetrahydrocannabivarin is the non-psychoactive cannabinoid, Cannabichromene that is usually found in cannabis and it also known to have a few medical properties. It is renowned for its anti-inflammatory, anti-proliferative, antimicrobial, analgesic properties, also stimulates the growth of bones and constricts blood vessels.

One of the principal psychoactive cannabinoid compounds found in marijuana is Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC that occurs naturally as THC-A, its acidic form and is not absorbed readily by the body in its naturally occurring state. When heated, THC-A undergoes decarboxylation to a readily absorbable from that has a number of different medical benefits.

Both Tetrahydrocannabinol and Cannabidiol have anxiolytic, antispasmodic, anti-proliferative anticancer, anti-inflammatory, neuro-protective, antiemetic, and neuropathic analgesic properties. In addition, Cannabidiol is also a bone-stimulant and immunosuppressant with antibacterial, antipsychotic, antiepileptic, anti-ischemic, anti diabetic, anti psoriatic, and vasorelaxation properties while the antioxidant Tetrahydrocannabinol stimulates appetite, reduces the intraocular eye pressure, promotes the growth of new nerve tissue, also protects nerves from damage.

There is no such thing as a -medical spa- in Florida. True! They are not uniquely licensed. In fact, they are usually not licensed at all because (1) they are owned and operated by licensed healthcare professionals, and/or (2) they do not file claims for reimbursement with health insurers. And they are not a regulated entity.

What then is a -medical spa-? It’s simply a place where people receive traditional spa services (e.g. facials), plus many other medical procedures, typically focused on cosmetic services (e.g. hair removal, Botox). It’s -medical- because of the nature of the services provided. It’s -medical- because (ideally) physician supervision is woven into the business model.

The trickiest part of medical spas for owners/operators is ensuring just two things: (1) that the professionals providing the services are doing so in a manner that doesn’t violate their licenses, and (2) those professionals have proper physician supervision. Each licensed person who typically works in a med spa is bound by statutes and regulations that govern what they can do and the degree (if any) of physician supervision required. The -scope of practice- regs applicable to PAs are different that those which apply to NPs or MAs for instance. The level of physician supervision is dictated not only by the license of the supervised professional, but also what the professional is doing. Rest assured, however, that the belief that such -formal- things do not apply because the patients pay in cash is not only untrue, but also a recipe for being shut down and prosecuted.

Other big challenges for med spas tend to be-

?Fee splitting arising in connection with how the professionals are paid (especially when they are paid on a percentage of collections basis)

?The Florida Patient Self Referral Act, which in part may limit to 50{db5241a9c62965a92042d70df68e9c05bff96d49c0f8a94bc6ca20474c918850} the amount of physician ownership if the physician is in a position to refer to the med spa.

Regulatory scrutiny can be expected to increase in coming years, especially as the media shines light on client injuries (typically burns from laser services) and the scope of services expands to include things like hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which traditionally involves telemedicine related issues. Med spa owners would do well to take seriously the many intricate (and disconnected) regs applicable to the licensed professionals who work in med spas and the physicians who supervise them.

Social media is becoming an essential tool in public relations. Public relations practitioners use social media every day to publicize their clients and start two-way conversations. Blogger, Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube are all important channels for social media. As a company or organization in the health industry, it may not seem important to be participating and interacting on social media. All too often healthcare practitioners dismiss social media as not being applicable to their industry. Why would someone want to follow a hospital on Twitter? Or be Facebook friends with a pharmaceutical company? There are in fact many reasons that audiences want to connect with those in the healthcare industry on social media platforms. Therefore, healthcare social media is becoming increasingly vital.

In order to develop healthcare social media strategies, companies and organizations must first be present on social media platforms. This means setting up accounts for Blogger, Facebook, Flickr, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube. There may be some social media platforms that do not seem like the best fit for your company or organization. The best way to be certain is to see what your competitors are doing. If your main competitor has a YouTube channel then so should you. However, you may not want to rule out a platform for healthcare social media use, even if your competitors are not present on it. This could be an opportunity for you to gain a competitive advantage over your competitors. For example, maybe none of the hospitals in the area have a Facebook page. By creating one and using it effectively, you might be able to reach some audiences that are not being reached through other forms of social media.

Once you have created accounts on all relevant social media platforms, your healthcare social media strategies can begin. Start communicating relevant information and your messages to your audiences and converse with other companies, organizations and individuals in the health industry. Social media is best used when it fosters two-way communication and reaches the most individuals. The health industry has various information that is increasingly important to disseminate out. Receiving this information could make a significant difference in someones life. These audiences are already using social media platforms for their daily lives, which is why it makes sense to connect with them on these healthcare social media platforms. Using all social media platforms to their full potential will increase communication and publicity for your company or organization in the health industry.

The pulp is the hollow inner core of the tooth that contains nerves, blood vessels, connective tissue and reparative cells (see Figure 1). In children, dental caries (cavities) and traumatic injury are the two main indications for pulpal therapy (also known as -paediatric root canal,- -pulpotomy- or -pulpectomy-). The primary objective of pulpal therapy is to maintain the integrity and health of the teeth and supporting tissues; thus, its treatment objective is to maintain the vitality of the pulp of a tooth affected by caries or traumatic injury.

In young permanent teeth with immature roots, the pulp is important for the continuation of apexogenesis (the continuation of the closure of the tip of the root, or apex, as the child gets older). Long-term retention of a permanent tooth requires a root with a favourable crown/root ratio and dentinal walls that are thick enough to withstand normal function. Therefore, pulp preservation is the primary goal for the treatment of young permanent dentition. A tooth without a vital pulp, however, can still remain clinically functional.

The vitality of the pulp is the most important focus of a dental examination and check-up because it is the basis of the indications, objectives and type of pulpal therapy that will be used. The pulp may be classified as normal (i.e., symptom free and with normal response to vitality testing), with reversible pulpitis (i.e., the pulp is capable of healing), with symptomatic or asymptomatic irreversible pulpitis (i.e., vital inflamed pulp is incapable of healing), or necrotic pulp.

The clinical diagnosis is derived from a comprehensive review of the medical and dental history, including current symptoms and chief complaint; subjective evaluation of the area associated with the current symptoms/chief complaint, which is accomplished by questioning the child and parent(s) on the location, intensity, duration, stimulus, relief and spontaneity of pain;

objective extraoral examination and intraoral soft and hard tissue examination; radiograph(s) to diagnose pulpitis or necrosis showing the involved tooth, furcation, periapical area and the surrounding bone; and clinical tests such as palpation, percussion and mobility.

A treatment plan should include the following:

1. The patient’s medical history

2. The value of each involved tooth in relation to the child’s overall development

3. Alternatives to pulp treatment

4. Restorability of the tooth.

Every human being desire peace more than anything in this world. Many people go into meditation process to relax their mind and body in order to create for a state of calmness. During this phase, the mind is quieted and the person becomes aware of his inner power to manage anxiety and overcome fear. For this reason, their concentration will lead them to focus on discomforts and pain that are usually felt in certain bony parts of the body that touches directly to hard surfaces. With this indispensable cushion, the practitioner can enjoy a deeper reflection.

Always plan for the place where you will hold your meditations before choosing the pillows you will use. You may wish to do your sessions outdoor on soft grasses, or you may want an indoor therapy on wooden floors. Others may like to have them on concrete grounds for more stability. When meditating in grassy areas, use lightweight pillows with soft nylon fills. For hard surfaces, you need a double sided pillow with solid foam base at the bottom, and soft synthetic fills on the top. This cushion allows you to easily rise from a seated position and makes you feel comfortable unlike ordinary pillows.

To achieve for a successful sitting, you have to settle comfortably on the cushion, in proper posture, without feeling any pressure or pain that can distract your focus. Sustaining this form for certain durations can be difficult without this pillow aids. There are different floor pillows to use when contemplating on what type to purchase. The most popular is the Zafu cushion which comes in either buckwheat hull or kapok fillers. This round or crescent shaped cushion gives elevated support for your upper legs. Ideally, you have to get seated at the front edge in order to position your pelvis in such a way that there is less strain on your knees. Another fine enhancer is the Zabuton cushion, rectangular in shape and less full than Zafus. It is usually complimented with bolster pillows for added support within the ankles and feet. Also a preferred choice is the horse-shoe shaped Cosmic cushion. It supports both of your thighs when seated, with your feet and ankles well rested.

Undoubtedly, meditation pillows are beneficial to practitioners who desire for inner peace and tranquillity. They make such a tremendous difference in the art of meditation.
